Namie Home Ltd — customers & website visitors
Last updated: 24 August 2026

WHO WE ARE

This Privacy Policy explains how Namie Home Ltd ("Namie", "we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit namiehome.com or buy from us. Namie Home Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15092547), registered office Unit 17 Loomer Road Industrial Estate, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 7LB. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

We take your privacy seriously and handle your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have any questions, contact us at customer-support@namiehome.co.uk.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service (namiehome.com/policies/terms-of-service) and our Returns Policy (namiehome.com/policies/refund-policy).

THE DATA WE COLLECT

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact data — your name, email address, telephone number, and billing and delivery addresses;
  • Order and transaction data — details of products you buy, order history, and correspondence about your orders;
  • Payment data — payment is processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store your full card details;
  • Account data — if you create an account, your login details and preferences;
  • Marketing and communications data — your preferences for receiving marketing by email and SMS, and your engagement with it;
  • Customer-service data — messages you send us via our website, email, live chat or social media;
  • Trade and business data — if you apply for a trade or wholesale account, your business name, work contact details, website, trading address, and what you are looking to buy;
  • Reviews and content — any review, photo or content you submit;
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

HOW WE COLLECT IT

  • Directly from you — when you place an order, create an account, sign up to marketing, contact us, or leave a review;
  • Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies when you use the website;
  • From online marketplaces — where you buy from us through a marketplace such as Amazon, which passes us the details we need to fulfil your order;
  • From third parties and public sources — for example our platform and analytics providers; advertising and social-media platforms where you have engaged with our adverts or completed an enquiry form; and, where you apply for a trade account, public registers and address and domain verification services (see “Trade and wholesale accounts” below).

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA, AND OUR LAWFUL BASIS

  • To process and deliver your orders, take payment and provide customer service — to perform our contract with you;
  • To keep records and meet our tax, accounting and other legal duties — to comply with our legal obligations;
  • To run, protect, analyse and improve our website and business, prevent fraud, and understand what customers want — for our legitimate interests;
  • To send you marketing by email and SMS, and to use non-essential (analytics and advertising) cookies — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

MARKETING

We will only send you marketing emails or text messages where you have opted in (or, for email, where you have bought from us and we are offering similar products and you have not opted out). Every marketing message includes an easy way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by contacting customer-support@namiehome.co.uk. Our email and SMS marketing is delivered through Klaviyo.

TRADE AND WHOLESALE ACCOUNTS

If you apply for a trade or wholesale account, or contact us as a business — including by completing an enquiry form hosted by a social-media platform such as Facebook or Instagram — we collect the details you give us. These usually include your name, business name, work email address, telephone number, website, trading address, and what you are looking to buy.

We use this information to reply to your enquiry, to assess and set up your account, and to agree trade pricing and terms with you. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, together with our legitimate interest in operating and growing our trade business.

Checking the details you give us. Before we open a trade account, we check that the details provided are accurate and that the business exists. This may involve checking:

  • your postcode and trading address against postal address databases;
  • your email address and website domain against public domain records, and with email verification providers, to confirm they are valid and able to receive mail;
  • your company name and registered details against the public Companies House register;
  • your published business contact details, where these are publicly available.

This means we may obtain some information about your business from sources other than you. We do so only to confirm or correct details you have already given us, and only in relation to your business rather than your private life. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in opening accounts only for genuine businesses, and in keeping accurate records as data protection law requires.

If an application cannot be completed because a detail appears to be missing or incorrect, we will normally contact you using the details you gave us so that you can confirm or correct it.

Enquiries made through social-media platforms. Where you complete an enquiry form hosted by Meta or a similar platform, that platform collects your details before passing them to us, and will handle your data under its own privacy policy as well as this one. We and the platform are each responsible for our own use of your data.

AUTOMATED TOOLS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

We use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to help us handle customer enquiries. These tools sort and prioritise incoming messages, suggest replies for our team, and answer questions through the chat on our website and in our replies to you. Where they are used, they process the content of your message together with your order details so that they can respond helpfully.

Some enquiries — for example a question about a product, its materials, or how to use it — may be answered automatically, without a member of our team reading your message first. These tools cannot change your order, issue a refund, or make any decision about your account or your money. Anything of that kind is always handled by a person.

You can ask to deal with a member of our team at any time and we will pass you to one — just say so in your message, or email customer-support@namiehome.co.uk.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing customer service that is efficient, consistent and quick to respond.

BUYING FROM US ON A MARKETPLACE

We also sell through online marketplaces, including Amazon. If you buy from us on a marketplace, that marketplace is your main point of contact and handles your personal data under its own privacy policy.

The marketplace passes us the information we need to fulfil your order — usually your name, delivery address, and a forwarding address for messages. From that point we are responsible for that information in the same way as for an order placed on our own website. We use it to pick, pack and deliver your order, to handle returns and enquiries, and to keep the tax and accounting records the law requires, and we hold it in the same systems described in this policy. We do not use marketplace customer details for our own marketing.

For anything relating to your marketplace account, your payment, or the platform itself, please contact the marketplace directly.

PREVENTING FRAUD AND MISUSE

Like any retailer, we occasionally deal with orders, returns or refund requests that appear not to be genuine — for example where goods repeatedly do not arrive, where a return does not match what was sent, or where a payment is disputed in a way that does not match our records.

Where that happens we keep a record of the order, what occurred, and our reasons for looking into it. That record includes your name, your contact details and the details of the order concerned. We use it to decide how to handle the case, to identify repeated patterns across orders, and to protect our business and our customers from loss.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and the misuse of our returns and refund policies. We may share information with our payment providers, with a marketplace where the order was placed there, or with the police, where we are required to do so or where it is necessary to investigate or prevent a crime.

How long we keep it. Where a case is confirmed or acted on — for example where we decline a refund, lose a payment dispute, or report the matter — we keep the record for six years, in line with the other records we hold about your orders. Where we look into something and it comes to nothing, we delete the record after twelve months.

Your rights. A record here does not mean we have accused you of anything, and you have the same rights over this information as over any other personal data we hold. If you believe we hold something about you that is wrong, contact customer-support@namiehome.co.uk and we will look into it. In limited cases we may not be able to tell you everything about an ongoing investigation, where doing so would prejudice it.

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work, to remember your basket and preferences, to measure traffic and performance, and — where you consent — for analytics and marketing. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. Essential cookies, which are needed for the site to function, do not require consent.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

We share your data only with trusted providers who help us run the business, and only as needed. These include:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the website and our store data;
  • Our payment providers — to process payments securely;
  • Klaviyo — our email and SMS marketing platform;
  • Re:amaze — our customer-service platform;
  • Address, domain and company verification providers — where you apply for a trade account, to confirm the details you have given us;
  • Online marketplaces — such as Amazon, where you have bought from us through their platform;
  • Delivery partners — such as Royal Mail, FedEx and other couriers, to deliver your order;
  • Analytics and advertising partners — such as Google and, where you have consented to marketing cookies, social-media platforms including Meta, TikTok and Pinterest;
  • Our accountants and other professional advisers;
  • Public authorities, regulators or law enforcement — where we are legally required to share data.

We require all these providers to keep your data secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal data.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Some of our providers (including Shopify, Klaviyo, Google and social-media platforms) are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law — such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the "UK–US Data Bridge") or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Order, payment and tax records are kept for at least six years to meet our legal obligations. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Data may persist on secure backups for a limited period after deletion.

Where you apply for a trade account, we keep the records for as long as the account is open and for six years afterwards. If an application does not proceed, we keep the enquiry for up to 24 months and then delete it. Records relating to suspected fraud or misuse are kept for the periods set out under “Preventing fraud and misuse” above.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to our processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact customer-support@namiehome.co.uk. We will respond within one month, normally free of charge.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

SECURITY

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and payment details are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information and to deal with any suspected breach.

CHILDREN

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. This policy was last updated in August 2026.
